Dillon Garrett is a bassist, trombonist, and composer known for his clean, rich sound and jazz influenced, soulful compositions. Born and raised in Texas, Dillon grew up listening to classic rock, especially the soul and blues bands of the 60s and 70s - sounds that would greatly influence his compositions later on. After high school, where he was an avid band member and leader, Dillon further honed his skills and compositional tone at the University of North Texas and the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.

Upon graduating, Dillon relocated to Brooklyn, where he dug himself into as many musical scenes as possible so that he could continue to hone his craft and refine his compositions. Dillon released his debut EP "Change of Plans" in February, 2018.

Dillon has received honorable mention awards from the International Trombone Association in the Kai Winding Jazz Trombone Ensemble Competition and the Carl Fontana Jazz Trombone Competition, and was a member of the 2015 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program.
